Turkey Themed Google Slides Activity Ideas!

(Click on pictures to view them as links)

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and if you're teaching virtually you might not be able to do the usual activities with your students. I've put together a list of 'turkey-themed' Google Slides activities that you can assign your students to do through Google Classroom.

My Pet Turkey

This activity is perfect to teach creative writing, students will have a lot of fun creating their own imaginary pet turkey. Students can name their turkey, decide the gender, age, color of feathers, height, weight, turkey's favourites, interesting facts about their turkey, special talents their turkey has and write all about it.

Where Is The Turkey?

This activity is a great way to teach prepositions words to students. You can create google slides where students will have to read the preposition word that is written and move the turkey to the correct position. For example, you can write 'The turkey is in between the pumpkins' then students will have to drag the turkey in between the pumpkins.

All About Turkeys Flipbook

To teach students about turkeys you can create a digital flipbook that includes everything that they need to about turkeys. You can include, the turkey life cycle, habitat of a turkey, diet of a turkey, facts about turkeys, parts of a turkey, turkeys 'can, have, are'.

How To Catch a Turkey

This activity is based on the book 'How To Catch a Turkey' by Adam Wallace. In this activity, students can design and build a trap to catch the turkey. You can ask students to brainstorm ideas to catch a turkey, create a story map, list the materials they will need. and write down their procedure (first, next, then, last) to catch a turkey.

'Turkey Themed' Math Activities

You can create interactive slides that you can share with your students through Google Classroom for them to complete. You can include math activities like; count how many, find the missing number, skip counting, tracing the number, writing the number word.

I hope the ideas that I shared in this blog gave you the inspiration to create 'turkey-themed' Google Slides activities for your students.
